Start, pause, resume or stop a campaign

You run a campaign from its page in Campaigns. Start it to begin dialing, pause it for a break, resume where it stopped, or stop it for good when you are done.

Before you start

  • Your role needs Run campaigns. Owners, admins and members have it by default. Without it, Start Campaign is greyed out.
  • The campaign needs a caller number and leads. If one is missing, Start Campaign is greyed out and tells you what to add. The caller number is in Settings, the leads in Edit. See Create a campaign.
  • Allow your browser to use the microphone. If it is blocked, you see Microphone needed.
  • Keep the tab open while you dial. Closing or reloading the tab pauses a running campaign.

Start a campaign

  1. Open the campaign. A new campaign shows READY.
  2. Click Start Campaign.
  3. On a power campaign, CallForges calls the first lead at the top of the dial order. The strip shows Power Dialing….
  4. When the lead answers, the strip shows Connected and the lead's contact page opens. The call has the same controls as the dialer: see Place a call from the dialer.
  5. When the call ends, you go back to the campaign and the strip shows Wrapping up… with a countdown to the next call (Next call in … secs). Its length comes from the campaign's wrap-up and cooldown settings.

During the countdown you can:

  • Click the countdown (Skip Cooldown) to dial the next lead now.
  • Click +10s to add 10 seconds.
  • Click Log outcome to open the post-call form. While the form is open the countdown waits, and the strip reads Next call after you log the outcome.

If Auto-advance is off in the campaign's settings, click Dial next to place each call yourself.

A parallel campaign calls several leads at once and connects you to the first one who answers. Its strip shows each line as it rings.

When every lead has been called, the campaign becomes Completed. If the page says Nothing left to dial, click Close out to mark it completed.

Pause a campaign

  1. Click Pause in the session strip.
  2. On a power campaign, a call that is already ringing or connected finishes normally. No new call is placed.
  3. On a parallel campaign with lines ringing, choose Pause now to hang up the ringing lines, or Pause after this round to let them finish (if someone answers, you are connected). Then click Pause.

Clicking Edit or Settings on a running campaign also pauses it, after you confirm Pause and edit.

CallForges pauses a campaign for you when:

  • you close or reload the tab, or the campaign is left running with nobody dialing;
  • the workspace runs out of credits. You see You're out of credits. Leads not called yet stay in the queue. See Pricing;
  • the campaign's phone number is deleted. Attach a new one in Settings before you resume.

Resume a campaign

  1. Open the campaign. It shows PAUSED.
  2. Click Resume. Dialing carries on from the next lead that has not been called.

If the campaign shows NOT DIALING, it is still running but nobody is dialing it in this tab, for example after a reload. Click Resume dialing to pick up where it stopped.

If you are on another call, Resume waits and says Finish your other call first.

Stop a campaign

  1. While you are dialing, click End session in the strip and confirm with End Campaign. A call in progress is hung up.
  2. When nobody is dialing, click Stop and confirm with Stop campaign.

Either way the campaign becomes Ended. Leads not called yet are marked Skipped. An ended campaign can't be started again.

Only want a break? Use Pause, not Stop. To call the leads a stopped campaign never reached, create a follow-up campaign from them: see Call the same leads again.

What each lead's status means

Each lead in the campaign's list shows a status. Pausing never changes it.

PendingWaiting to be called.
RingingBeing called now.
In progressThe lead answered and the call is live.
CompletedThe lead answered and the call ended.
VoicemailThe call reached a voicemail box.

No answerThe phone rang and nobody picked up.
