Invite users

Invite your teammates by e-mail to work in your CallForges workspace. Each person gets a link to join, with the role you chose for them.

Before you start

  • Users with the Owner or Admin role can invite users. A custom role can too, if it has the permission to invite.
  • In the free trial, until you choose a plan, the invite dialog reads Upgrade to invite teammates. An owner or admin who manages billing can click Choose a plan there.
  • On a paid plan, each new user is a seat on your plan. See Plans and seats.
  • Invite people with their work e-mail address. A personal address may be refused with Invite people with their work email.

Send an invite

  1. Open Settings, then Users & teams, and stay on the Users tab.
  2. Click Invite user.
  3. In Email addresses, type an address and press Enter, a comma or a space. Add as many as you need.
  4. Pick a Role. Everyone in this invite gets the same role.
  5. Click Send invite, or Send N invites for several people.

You see Invite sent, and each person appears in the list with the status Invite pending. If someone is already in the workspace, CallForges tells you and doesn't invite them again.

Choose a role

RoleWhat they can do
OwnerEverything, including creating custom roles. There is one owner per workspace, so you can't invite someone as owner.
AdminRuns the workspace day to day: buys and assigns numbers, invites and removes users, edits teams and workspace settings, and sees everyone's calls, campaigns and contacts.
MemberDoes the calling: creates and runs campaigns, works with contacts and lists, logs call outcomes and notes, and listens to recordings. Can't buy numbers, invite people or change workspace settings.
Custom rolesRoles your owner made in Settings → Roles & permissions, with exactly the permissions they need.

You can only give a role up to your own. An admin can invite admins and members. A custom role can only give the permissions it holds itself.

When a seat is needed

On a paid plan, the invite dialog reminds you that each new user is a seat on your plan, and that if no paid seat is free, you pay for one before the invite is sent.

  • If a paid seat is free, for example after someone was removed, the new user takes it at no extra charge.
  • If no seat is free, CallForges opens a checkout for the seats you need and shows the amount before you pay. Once the payment goes through, you see Your invite is on its way.
  • If you can't manage billing, you see A seat is needed. Ask an owner or admin who manages billing to add one.
  • If you see Your workspace has reached its user limit — contact support, write to our support team.

What the invited user does

  1. They open the link in the invite e-mail. The page reads Join and your workspace name.
  2. New to CallForges: they enter their First name, Last name, Username and Password, and click Create account and join.
  3. Already have an account with that address: they click Sign in. If they are signed in with a different account, they click Sign out and continue first.

If the page reads This invitation is no longer valid, the invite expired or was revoked. Send them a new one.

Resend or revoke an invite

  • Click Invited above the list to see only pending invites.
  • Open a row's menu and click Resend invite to send the e-mail again.
  • Click Revoke invite, then Revoke, to cancel it. Their invite link stops working immediately.

To remove someone who already joined, open their row's menu and choose Remove from workspace. They lose access immediately. Their call history and campaigns stay, and their numbers move to the workspace owner. To add a user to a team, use the Teams tab.
